"Seattle Quartet" was commissioned by The Seattle Chamber Players to the Seattle Symphony Festival Viva la Musica, (may 2003).
The central or generating idea of the piece is the combination, the dialog, and the conflict between several fundamental musical structures, the Polyphony on one hand and the Homophony on the other, the same ones that in constant processes of fusions and desintegrations, other forms of existence of the musical matter generate as well: the Heterophony and finally the Monody.
