The trio for violin, violoncel and piano was composed in New York in the fall of 1994. It is composed by three movements that become unified through recurrent reasons. The first movement is structured in the framework of modified sonata form, preceded by a slow an mysterious introduction. The second movement (Adagio) is a kind of lyric and cantabile. The work concludes with a fast, virtuous and rapsodic movement. The motivic material is mainly dodecaphonic, but tonal "sahdows" are strenghtened by the use of major and minor triads. Mathematic models derived from the theory of numbers as generators of rhythm are also used as well as melodic material. The trio has been recorded by RALS.
